This is actually quite a lengthy blog entry by Bret Contreras aka The Glute Guy, with the above title. I actually did not know that he was the inventor of the barbell hip thrust exercise, now I do. Basically in this blog post Bret lays out the current evidence on the effects of hip thrust on speed (sprinting) gains and addresses his personal bias as the inventor of the exercise. It’s an interesting read, definitely loads of information and links to research articles etc.
